The title comes from the chapters 24 and 25 of Forbidden Scrollery.
Ranko: This is more like a tertiary work rather than a secondary one.
The lyrics are based on a secondary work in my mind. I’m sorry.
I can’t help but feel that Forbidden Scrollery’s Reimu is not equal to the Reimu from the games, but rather another Reimu from a parallel world.
I was shocked when I read the related manga chapters. Is this really that miko?!
Of course Reimu knows she is right, and the rules of Gensoukyou are protected by her guideline, but is it really right? Is it happiness? Who’s happy? Me? Everyone? If I start thinking about it, I wonder if a lot of things will collapse~ the world, Gensoukyou, etc.
That’s what the lyrics are about.
Musically, this song is heavily influenced by “Unravel”, the opening of the anime Tokyo Ghoul.
Lyrics
furishikiru ame watashi wo oitette
nureru koto mo kanawanai no
amari ni mo tadashisugite kowaretemo
kizukarenai hitoribocchi nara
fui ni zawatsuku mimi no oku ni
shinikarizumu shimawarete yuku
shigunaru wo hasshite nageita
kakerareta noroi jiyuu to kodoku to ga
yuiitsu tare to semetsudzukeru
suterarenu kono watashi no tadashisa ga
itsu itsu made mo shibaritsukete yuku
warui kotoba no hashi wo tsukamu
tomedo mo naku nagareochiteku
azayaka ni terashite kuuhaku
shinjitsu no zanzou subete ga kuzuretemo

Translation
The rain is pouring, leave me behind
It can’t even get me wet
I’m so righteous that even if I break
I wouldn’t notice it… if I’m all alone
Suddenly, there’s a buzz in my ears
My cynicism is being put aside
It emitted a signal… and lamented
It’s a curse placed on me, freedom and loneliness are
The only things I keep blaming
This righteousness of mine that I cannot abandon
Will bind me forever and ever
I don’t let pass the details in those bad remarks
I can’t stop them from flowing down
It’s brightly illuminated… and then blank
The afterimage of truth, even if everything falls apart
I’ll stop having any doubt
Before dawn, the morning star drives me mad, I pull a risky act
I’m not lying about being confused… but
The rain is pouring, leave me behind
It can’t even get me wet
I’m so righteous that even if I break
I wouldn’t feel lonely, forevermore… always
