End of 2021

And here we are, with the last post of 2021. A year that was pretty much an extension of 2020. Covid is still ruining our lives, so there was a lack in activity. Not a lot of new music, and the few live concerts are still live-streamed. Here are some nice stats:

Touhou songs: 15 (including the 3p remix and the sachlich songs)
Originals: 2 (including Rockin’ Pink Monster vocal)
Total: 17
Ranko songs with other arrangers: 2 (1 Touhou, 1 original)
Comp songs with other vocalists: 4 (LOL, Touhou Lost World! 🦕 🦖 )

It was a year with not a lot of exciting things, but we still got the amazing stuff. Kochuuten has entered my top 10 favorite albums, awoke the Hourai Ningyou love that was kind of suppressed in me, and it was a great way to start the new BUTAOTOME era. It gets a 8.5/10, one score less because there is no Enigmatic Doll, and I’m still salty about that. #musedeservesherbutasong #alsoyesterdaywaskiohgyoku20thanniversaryboohooo Anyway. I still haven’t listened to Hyakumannin no Heikou Hifuu yet (for obvious reasons), but it sounds promising, and I really can’t wait to get my copy and work on the usual stuff! Compilation tracks have been pretty uninteresting, but we got a new original song (not made for a rhythm game, for once!) and the vocal version of Rockin’ Pink Monster. Also, a shout out to the Ura Best, which, while it was pretty much a low effort release made for Beatmario’s “event” and aimed at beginners, made me rediscover some great old tracks. Art is timeless!

I hope next year will be full of amazing BUTAOTOME content, and that Comp will be less busy with LOL, Touhou Lost World! 🦕 🦖

As for me… this year I’ve probably realized what I wanna do in life. I think translations and the world surrounding it are my true path, and I wanna do my best in the future. Of course, I’ll also do my best in anything surrounding this small place on the internet dedicated to this fun doujin circle/band we all love, as well as updating THBWiki. These will be my goals for the new year! It will also be the 10th anniversary of when I became a BUTAOTOME fan, and I already have ideas for some celebrations. Man, 10 years is a pretty long time…

I wanna thank all the people who read, support, etc. Tiramisu Cowboy. Hopefully, 2022 will be a good year, life will be back to normal and traveling will be possible again! See you there!
