So, what happened in the last couple of months in the World of BUTAOTOME?
- VANITAS has been released! Lyrics and translations will be published in the next couple of days, keep an eye on the songs pages!
- I’ve also got access to the full version of Danmaku Shinkou, and the lyrics + translation have been updated!
- A new game called All in Abyss: Judge the Fake has been released on Steam and Switch. Buta did the opening theme song, called All in Abyss (duh). You can watch its official video here.
- Hey, do you know Touhou Gensou Eclipse, the Touhou gacha by Cave? Yeah, it’s relevant now, since Buta finally provided an instrumental song for it. Buuuut it’s made for the Gensou Eclipse collab event of Gothic wa Mahou Otome, so you can only hear it in the non-Touhou gacha… Yeah, I’m confused. Anyway, it’s a new Koiiro Master Spark arrangement, sample here.
- A notable release from Reitaisai is a Sekkenya Tribute compilation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the circle. It’s filled with covers of Sekkenya songs by other circles including Jigoku no Hashi ni te Kimi wo Matsu by Buta! The official website is here, and here is the XFD, timestamped to the Pig.
- Nanase Aikawa released a new song made by Comp, it’s called Victory Anthem! It’s available on most streaming services.
- Wawon! is an ongoing comic about three high school girls starting a Touhou doujin circle. They are also planning to make a voiced version and release both new songs and covers of already existing ones. Comp is involved as the music producer, and I’m pretty sure the music studio appearing in the comic is traced from pics of his actual studio. Anyway, on this timestamp you can hear yet another Koiiro Master Spark arrangement by the bear, called Little MAGIC. The vocalist is SARAH.
- Pinball, the newest original album, has been finally added to streaming services!
- One of the recently released DLCs for Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost includes Utakata.
- Last month there was the usual Super Touhou Live Stage, and BUTAOTOME performed live! You can (re)watch their performance here, timestamped.
- More live performances videos have been uploaded on the Fanbox (behind the maniac tier). The Sisters are also organizing a small campaign to celebrate the 200th episode of their radio, more details in this post. (do note that applications for the event in June are now closed)
